Day Camp: July 30-August 3- 9:00 AM-3:30 PM
Summer will be here before you know it, and then it will be time for Day Camp! Anyone who has ever attended Day Camp will tell you that it is amazing! This year, 2018, our theme is Day Camp On the Go! We would love for your child to join us for another excellent week of fun games, super crafts and skills, sing-along songs, outstanding outings and great Bible talks. Day Camp is beloved by all who have attended over the years. Many who were once Day Campers come back as Troop leaders and Directors because they just can't get enough of Day Camp.
To be eligible for Day Camp, you must be a boy or girl in grades 1-6 during the 2018-2019 school year. Children are accepted regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. Many activities will be divided into junior and senior age groups to facilitate learning and interest. Fill out the Day Camp Registration here.
Midweek Activities during the School Year
KidREACH: Tuesdays, 5:15-6:15 PM
KidREACH is a World Vision partner program; an After School Academic Mentoring Program for children desiring tutoring help with school work during the school year. Currently we are working with children from Des Moines Elementary School. Dinner is included. Applications are available through the Chapel Office or Des Moines Elementary School. This is strictly an academic program.
ACTION Club: Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 PM
What is ACTION Club? DMGC offers ACTION Club for boys and girls in grades 3-6 on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM during the school year.
Our well-trained squad leaders always give warm and loving guidance, focusing on teaching children the Word of God. Weekly Scripture memory, Bible-centered lessons, singing, games, sports, crafts and awards for "a job well done" are key to ACTION Club’s goal of introducing children to the love of Christ. ACTION Club requires a commitment from the family to encourage learning and memorization of Scripture each week. Make sure you've filled out the ACTION Registration Form.
We also offer a MOPPETS program that runs simultaneously with our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month during the school year. For more information about MOPS and MOPPETS please click here.
To find additional information about the above ministries, contact Patti Cramer, our Children’s Ministries Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or through the Chapel Office at 206-878-2145.
Our desire is to reach children for Jesus Christ through quality teaching and fun activities intended to build a solid spiritual foundation in the life of each child.
We will love your children - share the Gospel with them, disciple believers toward spiritual maturity and partner with parents as we encourage every family to make a whole life commitment to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Nursery: Sundays, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM for ages 0-3 years
The Nursery at DMGC provides a loving and secure environment for our babies and toddlers during both services. Parents can drop off their little ones in our bright and modern nursery wing on the lower level and attend services with peace of mind knowing that their young ones are well cared for. All nursery helpers are carefully screened, have background checks and are in attendance at DMGC.
Children's Church: Sundays, 9:30 AM for ages 4-7
Children's Church is offered year round in the Blue Room. The children are taught age-appropriate Bible lessons and there are fun games and activities.
Preschool & Kindergarten: Sundays, 11:00 AM for ages 3 (as of September 1)-Kindergarten
At DMGC we offer age-appropriate Bible teaching combined with a lot of fun in our preschool Bible time on Sunday mornings. Children are never too young to begin to learn God's Word and hide it in their hearts. Our desire it to teach Jesus' love through Bible lessons, songs, crafts and various activities.
Grades 1-6: Sundays, during the 11:00 AM hour
Children's Sunday School is where our first through sixth graders come to learn about the love of Jesus Christ and they start to make their faith their own. They meet in the Sunday school auditorium to worship and praise the Lord together through music and then study the Word of God in small groups. Our wonderful leaders teach God's Word, the importance of prayer, God's love, and how to apply these biblical principles to their lives. Children should bring their Bibles to class every Sunday. We look forward to working with your children to develop Christ-likeness. Most importantly, we share with the children the Lord's desire to have a personal relationship with them.
Dedication of Children
Child dedication is intended to be a significant commitment on the part of the parents who want, in God's grace, to live godly lives and raise children "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." Child dedication does not make anyone a Christian. We are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. Parents desiring to dedicate their children should contact Pastoral Team member, Mac Sauerlender, at either email@example.com or 206-878-2145.
